Duplicate, archive and restore an Opportunity

This article covers copying an Opportunity, how Opportunities move to the archive, and how to bring one back. Users, Admins and Team Owners can duplicate and restore Opportunities. Only the enrola team can delete them.

Duplicate an Opportunity

Duplicating is the quickest way to advertise a similar vacancy, or the same vacancy again.

  1. Open Opportunities → Live (or Archived).
  2. On the Opportunity's row, select Duplicate.
  3. In the Duplicate opportunity window, check the Type. Change it now if the copy needs a different Opportunity type, because you can't change it later.
  4. Select Duplicate.

The copy appears in the list with the same title followed by a number, for example "Level 3 Business Administrator Apprentice (1)". Open it and change the title.

The Duplicate opportunity window, with the Type field and the Duplicate button.

What the copy has

The copy starts as a new, unposted Opportunity:

  • its status is Not posted, with no postings in its log;
  • it has no Applications;
  • it has no Supervisors, so the yellow "no supervisor" notice appears until you assign one;
  • it has no categories or sectors, so add them again in Opportunity info;
  • it has a new public reference, so its job board pages and apply links are its own.

Check the dates in Opportunity info before you post it. Copied dates may already have passed.

How Opportunities are archived

The Opportunities menu has two lists: Live and Archived. An Opportunity moves to Archived when its status becomes one of these:

Status When it happens
Archived Its Advert Closing Date has passed. enrola checks every night, and also archives an Opportunity straight away if you set a closing date in the past.
Filled Applicants have reached Ready for enrolment for every place in Positions available. enrola also removes the advert from job boards that allow it.
Closed A job board has confirmed it removed the advert, for example after you selected Delete in Posting Control.

The archived Opportunities list, with each Opportunity's status.

Archiving by closing date only changes the status in enrola. It doesn't send anything to job boards. Find an apprenticeship (shown as NAS in enrola) and Not Going To Uni already have the closing date from your post, and enrola's Indeed feed leaves out Opportunities whose closing date has passed.

Note. Your enrola job board, your Website iFrame and the API's list of Opportunities show live Opportunities only. Once an Opportunity is archived, it no longer appears in them.

Restore an Opportunity from the archive

  1. Open Opportunities → Archived and open the Opportunity.
  2. In the Opportunity info panel, set Advert Closing Date to today or a later date.

The Opportunity returns to Opportunities → Live. Its status becomes Posted if it is still on any job board, or Not posted if it isn't. To advertise it again, post it from Posting Control.

Delete an Opportunity

Deleting is permanent, so only the enrola team can do it. Ask the enrola team, or contact support at support@enrola.co.uk, and say which Opportunities you want deleted.

Warning. A deleted Opportunity can't be recovered. Its Applications stay in enrola, but they are no longer linked to the Opportunity. If you only want it out of the way, let it archive instead.
