The Opportunity record: details, salary and address
An Opportunity record holds everything about one vacancy. This article explains its panels and the fields that matter most. Fields save as soon as you change them, and enrola shows All changes saved.

Top of the page
- Apply opens the application form, as applicants see it.
- Request more info sends the employer a form for the details you choose. See Ask an employer for vacancy details.
- Opportunity stage holds coloured labels from Settings → Labels.
- Edit page layout lets you show, hide and reorder panels. See Show, hide, collapse and reorder panels.
Summary
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Title | The vacancy title on every job board. |
| Assign supervisors | The staff responsible for the Opportunity. They receive its notifications. |
| Application auto assigned supervisor | Select Select to choose which Supervisor each new Application is assigned to. |
| Employer | The employer. Edit selected employer opens its record; Add employer creates one. |
| Main contact | The employer's default contact, shown for reference. |
| Training delivery site | One of the delivery sites in Settings → Organisation details. |
| External ID | A reference from another system. |
| Application Redirect | A web address to send applicants to instead of your enrola form. enrola then can't track those applications, so leave it blank unless you need it. |
Supervisors
You need a Supervisor to create an Opportunity. You can remove them later and the Opportunity still saves. When it has none, a yellow notice appears:
This opportunity has no supervisor. Assign one: they get its notifications, and NAS won’t post it without one.
Select Assign supervisors in the notice and choose at least one. Find an apprenticeship (shown as NAS in enrola) needs the first Supervisor's name and email address.

Description
Short description, Main Description, Entry requirements, Training to be Provided, Things to consider, Skills Required and Outcome.
Main Description, Entry requirements and Training to be Provided use a rich-text editor with numbered and bulleted lists only. Text you paste arrives as plain text, because job boards such as Find an apprenticeship don't accept other formatting. Skills Required is a list to choose from.
Opportunity info
| Field | Notes |
|---|---|
| Advert Start Date and Advert Closing Date | When the advert runs. After the closing date, enrola archives the Opportunity. |
| Possible Start Date | When the job or course starts. |
| Minimum salary (£) and Maximum salary (£) | Enter one figure, or both for a range. |
| Salary Interval | Day, Week, Month or Year. Applies to both salary figures. |
| Expected Duration | A number and a unit, Months or Years. |
| Positions available | How many people you're recruiting. |
| Categories and Sectors | Select Add categories or Add sectors. The first sector is the main sector, which some job boards use. |
The salary range
Indeed, your enrola job board and your Website iFrame show the full range, for example "£18500 - £21000 per year". Other job boards use the minimum. To show a single figure, fill in Minimum salary (£) only. If you clear both fields, any salary saved before keeps showing.
The salary checks are:
- "Enter a minimum salary, or leave both blank."
- "Maximum salary must be greater than or equal to minimum salary."
Find an apprenticeship doesn't use these fields. It takes the wage from the NAS panel.
Location
An Opportunity has one workplace address.
- Enter the Postcode and the House No.
- Select Find address. enrola fills in Address, District, Town/ City, Country and County.
- Check the result and correct anything that's wrong.
If you see "We couldn’t find the full address. Please check it and fill in the rest.", enrola knows the postcode but not the building. Type the rest of the address. "No addresses could be found for this postcode." means the postcode wasn't recognised.
Job boards need different parts of the address. Find an apprenticeship needs the first line and the postcode; Not Going To Uni needs the town and county.
Job board panels
Panels named after job boards, such as NAS, Indeed and enrola, hold the extra details each board needs. They appear after Posting Control. The enrola panel has Hide employer, which leaves the employer's name off your enrola job board.
Other panels
- Posting Control: post to job boards and read the posting log. See Post an Opportunity with Posting Control.
- Applicants and Find more applicants: see See and manage the applicants for an Opportunity.
- Interview Availability: see Set interview availability and book interviews.
