Choose which filters each list offers

Each list offers a set of built-in filters under Filters → Add a filter. If your team never filters Applications by Ward or Criminal conviction, for example, you can hide those filters so the list is shorter. Admins and Team Owners can do this. It applies to everyone in your organisation.

Hide or show filters

  1. Go to Settings → Search filters.

The page has a section for each list: Applications (live and archived), Opportunities (live and archived), Employers and Contacts. Each section says how many filters are shown, for example "27 of 27 shown".

  2. Switch off the filters you want to hide. Switch on any you want to bring back.

  3. To change a whole list at once, select Show all or Hide all in its section.

  4. Select Save changes.

Settings, Search filters, with a switch for each built-in filter on the Applications list and a count of how many are shown.

The next time anyone opens the Filters button on that list, hidden filters are not under Add a filter.

What hiding a filter does not change

  • Saved searches and links that already use a hidden filter keep working, and the filter still shows as a chip on those lists.
  • Hiding a filter does not change or delete any data.
  • Search boxes are not affected.

If every filter on a list is hidden, the filter panel says "Your admins have hidden every filter for this list in Settings → Search filters."

Custom fields on the same page

Under each list, the Custom fields part lets you turn your own fields into filters. See Filter lists by your own custom fields.

Good to know

  • The setting is for your whole organisation. You cannot hide filters for one user only.
  • If you work in more than one organisation, each one has its own setting. Switch organisation first.
  • The Learners list has no filters to choose.
