Too many attempts: when sign-in pauses
To stop anyone guessing passwords, enrola pauses sign-in for a short time after too many wrong attempts. The pause ends on its own after 5 minutes.
When an account is paused
If the wrong password is entered for an account more than 10 times within a few minutes, enrola pauses sign-in to that account for 5 minutes. The sign-in page shows:
"This account has been temporarily blocked due to too many login attempts in a short period of time. Block time remaining: 5 minute(s)"
enrola also emails the account's owner. The email is called "Your account has been locked".
During the pause, enrola refuses every sign-in to that account, even with the right password.

When a network is paused
If 50 wrong attempts come from the same network, such as your office, enrola pauses sign-in from that network for 5 minutes. The message says "This IP address has been temporarily blocked…" instead. This can affect everyone signing in from the same building, even with the right password. No email is sent for this.
What to do
- Wait for the time in the message. Don't try again while you wait, because each try is refused.
- If you aren't sure of your password, select Forgot password? and choose a new one. See Forgotten your password: choose a new one.
- Sign in again once the time has passed.
Important. If you get a "Your account has been locked" email and you weren't trying to sign in, someone else may have tried your password. Choose a new password and tell your Team Owner.
If sign-in keeps pausing, contact support at support@enrola.co.uk. See Getting help from the enrola team.
Good to know
- From Tuesday 27 October 2026, enrola will email sign-in codes and has separate limits for wrong codes. See Email sign-in codes from 27 October 2026.
