See Applications on a map and filter by area

The map shows where the applicants in your Applications list are. Use it to spot clusters, or draw an area to narrow the list to applicants nearby.

Opening the Applications map, zooming in, and drawing a circle to filter the list.

Open the map

  1. Go to Applications → Live.
  2. Select Map above the table.

The map opens above the list and stays open until you select Hide map, even as you move between pages and change filters.

What the map shows

  • The map follows your search, filters and Opportunity dropdowns. It always shows the same Applications as the list.
  • Each square shows how many Applications are in that area. Some squares are named after the nearest town.
  • The line above the map says how many are mapped, such as "66 of 66 applications mapped". Applications without a postcode can't be mapped.
  • Places are based on the centre of each applicant's postcode, not their exact address.

If none of the Applications has a postcode, the map says "None of these applications has a postcode to place on the map."

Zoom in and out

  • Select a square to zoom into it. The squares split into smaller areas as you zoom.
  • Select Zoom out to go back to the whole map.

Zooming changes only the map. The list below still shows every Application your filters find.

Show only the Applications in an area

  1. Select Circle or Rectangle.
  2. Drag on the map to draw the area.

The list now shows only the Applications inside the area. The area appears as a Map area filter beside your other filters, and stays drawn on the map.

To see all the Applications again, select Clear area, or remove the Map area filter.

Tip. Save the search to keep the area for next time. See Save a search and share it.

Good to know

  • To search by distance from a postcode instead of drawing, use the Location filter. See Filter by location and distance.
  • The map isn't available on the archived Applications list.
  • Bulk actions work on the filtered list as usual. For example, draw an area, select all, and assign the Applications to the Supervisor who covers it.
  • Map data: Natural Earth.
