Connect BKSB

BKSB is an initial assessment service for English and maths. When your organisation connects its BKSB account, enrola looks up each new applicant in BKSB and copies their results onto the Application. A Team Owner adds the connection.

Connect BKSB

You need a Key ID and Secret Key from your organisation's BKSB account.

  1. Open Settings → Integrations.
  2. In the BKSB credentials panel, enter the Key ID and Secret Key.
  3. Click outside the fields. enrola shows All changes saved.

The secret key shows as dots. Select the eye button beside it to check it.

Settings → Integrations, where each connection's details are entered. Passwords and keys are hidden until you select the eye icon.

What happens next

When a new Application arrives, enrola searches BKSB for a user with the applicant's email address. If it finds one, it:

  • fills in Username in the Application's Initial assessment details panel with their BKSB username;
  • adds their results to the same panel, with Course name, Level, Date Achieved, Score and Comment.

This happens in the background, a short while after the Application arrives. Applicants who use a different email address in BKSB aren't found automatically.

Retrieve results by hand

Use this when an applicant takes their assessment after applying, or used a different email address in BKSB.

  1. Open the Application and find Initial assessment details.
  2. Check Username holds the applicant's BKSB username. Type it in if it's empty.
  3. Select Retrieve data.

enrola shows "BKSB data has been loaded successfully." and the results appear in the panel.

Important. Retrieve data replaces the results already in the panel. If your organisation also connects Selectahead or My Skills Forward, one button fetches from each service in turn, and the last service's results replace the others.
