Connect My Skills Forward

My Skills Forward provides assessments for applicants. When your organisation connects its account, staff can copy an applicant's My Skills Forward results onto their Application. A Team Owner adds the connection.

Connect My Skills Forward

You need an API key and an API token from your organisation's My Skills Forward account.

  1. Open Settings → Integrations.
  2. In the My Skills Forward credentials panel, enter the API key and API token.
  3. Click outside the fields. enrola shows All changes saved.

Both show as dots. Select the eye button beside each one to check it.

Settings → Integrations, where each connection's details are entered. Passwords and keys are hidden until you select the eye icon.

Retrieve an applicant's results

My Skills Forward results aren't fetched automatically. Staff fetch them from the Application:

  1. Open the Application and find Initial assessment details.
  2. In Username, enter the applicant's My Skills Forward username.
  3. Select Retrieve data.

enrola shows "MySkillsForward data has been loaded successfully." and the results appear in the panel, with Course name, Level, Date Achieved, Score and Comment.

Important. Retrieve data replaces the results already in the panel. If your organisation also connects BKSB or Selectahead, one button fetches from each service in turn, and the last service's results replace the others.

Messages

Message What to do
MySkillsForward API key is not filled in. Despite its wording, this usually means Username on the Application is empty. Enter the applicant's My Skills Forward username.
There was an error during the request. The rest of the message gives My Skills Forward's reason. Check the username and the API key and token, then try again.
Your organisation needs to have valid at least one of "BKSB", "Selectahead" or "My Skills Forward" credentials. None of the three services is connected. A Team Owner adds one in Settings → Integrations.
