Merge tags in employer emails and requests

This article lists the merge tags for emails to employers and contacts, and for Request more info emails. How merge tags work, and the tags for status emails to applicants, are in Merge tags you can use in emails to applicants.

In every email below, click a tag in the Legend to add it to the body, and type tags into the subject yourself.

Employer and contact status emails

These are the Email statuses you set up in Settings → Employer workflows. See Move Employers and Contacts through workflow statuses.

Tag Fills in
[@employer_name@] The employer's name
[@employer_email@], [@employer_website@] The employer's email and website
[@employer_address@], [@employer_city@], [@employer_postcode@] The employer's address
[@employer_contact_name@] The name of the employer's main contact
[@employer_custom_...@] Your custom fields on Employers, one tag per field

Contact statuses (Employer contact workflows) can also use the contact's own details:

Tag Fills in
[@employercontact_first_name@], [@employercontact_last_name@] The contact's name
[@employercontact_email@] The contact's email address

Requests from an Employer record

These are the emails behind Request more info, Request ELI and Send feedback survey on an Employer record. They go to the employer's main contact.

Tag Fills in
[@employer_name@], [@employer_email@], [@employer_website@], [@employer_address@], [@employer_city@], [@employer_postcode@], [@employer_contact_name@] The employer's details, as above
[@employercontact_first_name@], [@employercontact_last_name@], [@employercontact_email@] The main contact
[@supervisor_first_name@], [@supervisor_last_name@], [@supervisor_email@] The employer's Assigned Supervisor (the first one, if there are several)
[@organisation_name@] Your organisation's name
[@user_name@], [@user_first_name@], [@user_last_name@], [@user_email@], [@user_phone@] You, the person sending
[@request_info_link@] The link to the form, in Request more info
[@request_eli_link@] The link to upload the insurance certificate, in Request ELI
[@feedback_link@] The link to the survey, in Send feedback survey

Use each link tag only in its own email.

Request more info emails

Request more info on an Application emails the applicant, and on an Opportunity emails the main contact of its employer. Both emails use the same Legend, but not every tag in it fills in both.

Tag On an Application On an Opportunity
[@request_info_link@] The link to the applicant's form The link to the employer's form
[@application_...@] tags The applicant's details Empty
[@opportunity_...@] tags The Opportunity they applied for The Opportunity
[@employer_...@] tags The Opportunity's employer The Opportunity's employer
[@supervisor_first_name@], [@supervisor_last_name@], [@supervisor_email@] The person the Application is assigned to The Opportunity's first Supervisor
[@organisation_name@] Your organisation's name Your organisation's name
[@user_...@] tags You, the person sending You, the person sending
[@employercontact_...@] tags Empty Empty

For the full list of [@application_...@], [@opportunity_...@] and [@employer_...@] tags, see Merge tags you can use in emails to applicants. Custom field tags are not available in Request more info emails.

Important. The standard Request more info email to an employer starts "Hi [@employercontact_first_name@]", but that tag is empty in this email, so the contact reads "Hi ,". Before you send, change the greeting, for example to "Hi [@employer_contact_name@]", which fills in the main contact's full name.

Labels in the Legend that need explaining

Tag Legend label What it actually fills in
[@employer_postcode@] Default Contact Name The employer's postcode
[@organisation_name@] Training Provider / College Details Your organisation's name
